UNDONE FLORIST for a week....
Monday 25 September- Friday 29 September
Can't take 3 weeks or more out of your life to take the whole Undone florist course? Just join us for this one week then- for a taste of what it would be like to be a wedding flower designer....
I love this week….we begin with an excursion to Nourish Gardens - our local flower farm- to forage for blooms and foliage. Then you will learn about the history of flower arrangement culminating in a focus on the “floral revolutionaries “ of today- and making an undone bride’s bouquet and table centre inspired by their naturally arranged garden flower style. There will also be workshops on wreath and garland construction; and wiring skills in making buttonholes, corsages and floral crowns. Theory wise we will re-cap the principles of design and cover business skills such as Consultations, Ordering, Pricing and Quotations and designing Mood boards. The major assignment is to plan and create wedding flowers for an invented bride: starting with an initial brief and Pinterest board, you will then go through a mock consultation process, then place the order and quote for a bride’s bouquet, buttonhole or corsage, flower crown and table centre based on the look you have devised. And on the final day you will create these pieces…which will then be modelled and photographed for your portfolio. LOTS of fun!! And of course huge skill development.
CLOSING DATE for registration is 5pm Monday 4 September 2017. Places are strictly limited so students receive hands on one to one attention.
